В принципе, ничего нового, так как речь идет о третьем сезоне, который как раз стартует в Штатах.

In an exclusive interview, Katie McGrath recently spoke to MediaBlvd about the changes in store for Morgana, as the character begins to assume her classic role of villainess. Season 3 of the BBC hit Merlin premieres tonight on SyFy.
MediaBlvd> Thank you again for your time today. I love your character on the show.
Katie> Oh, thank you very much! I hope she’s your favorite character. She’s probably not, so you can lie to me!
читать дальшеMediaBlvd> Ok, first question, normally in tellings of the Arthur legend, we start with Morgana as the evil bad influence, and I think we are going that way on the show, but you’ve gotten the chance to play her as the good girl, somebody who we get to like as a character. How has that experience been for you?
Katie> From the writing point of view, I kind of have the best of both worlds. I’ve always felt that I had the best character because of where she starts off with the show and where she ends up is such a huge journey, and I get to play so many different aspects of a person. And this year, because of the transformation that she’s had it’s like playing a whole different character. So from my point of view, and I may be slightly biased, I’ve always thought I had the best deal on the show, I have the best character. I think it’s important that you cared about Morgana to begin with, and had she been evil from the outset, I don’t think you would have. But now, because you’ve had this year where you could spend time with her and hopefully see her point of view, now at the point she is at in season three I hope it’s not as black and white as just that she is an evil character, and therefore we hate her. I hope you are invested with her and kind of see her point of view.
MediaBlvd> Which is more fun to play, the evil Morgana, or the fun friend of everybody and the loving ward?
Katie> Are you kidding me? Evil!! I love the bad girl. This year she’s more interesting with more layers and she’s not just evil. She’s been playing at being the dutiful ward. So I still get to play the character that I’ve done for the last few years, but also I get this extra sprinkling or layer of nastiness.
MediaBlvd> One of the concerns in fandom I think, was that at the end of Season 2 both Morgana and the Dragon were out of the main story. But from what I hear, they find a way to bring you back in pretty prominently. Do you think that will continue throughout the series? Is Morgana always going to have a part of the legend as it’s told in Merlin?
Katie> In a couple of episodes there is kind of a very interesting conversation between Merlin and the Dragon, and one of the things that the Dragon says to Merlin about Morgana is that she is the darkness to his light. So I think you are starting to see them as sort of two sides of the same coin. Whereas Merlin represents all that is good and noble to do with magic, Morgana has taken it to a different place. And I think they are going to be the foil to each other. So she has taken on a different role in the story now, sort of Merlin’s magical foil if that makes sense.
MediaBlvd> One of the things that I want to ask you about as an actress, and I’m not quite sure how to phrase this. At times you can just see the evil in Morgana with a single look. Or when people look away, Morgana has that evil smile. Do you practice that, or how do you go about being so expressive without saying a word?
Katie> It’s just your job, you know? It says it in the sсript, and it’s your job to put across what the writer have put into the story. I’d be remiss if I didn’t do that because it’s part of the story, and every action that they put in has value to tell the story. So it’s a job to do, and that’s what you are there for. Everybody needs to know I’m evil!
MediaBlvd> Well, you do it very well!
Katie> Thank you very much. I had a lot of time to practice it.
MediaBlvd> The STARZ network is getting ready to produce Camelot, and I was wondering how you feel about being on the air the same time with two Arthur tellings?
Katie> They are so different, what Camelot is going to do and what we do. They have the same ingredients, but they are an entirely different take. It’s aimed at a different audience and ours is the story of before they were famous. It’s almost like Camelot picks up where Merlin leaves off and tells the next ten years. They are so completely different. When I first heard that they were being done, you have sort of this slight feeling of panic in your stomach. But then you see where they are going, and you realize it’s two entirely different stories. It’s like two superheroes; like Batman and Superman. It’s completely different, and I think it can only help. I think one will feed off the other.
MediaBlvd> Can you talk just briefly about some of the guest stars that you have on Season 3? It seems like a pretty amazing group of people coming in.
Katie> What I think is really interesting this year is that because the show is more established, we have a lot more sort of younger, unknown sort of guest characters coming in, who I just know are going to be the next big thing. Merlin is that type of show where you have amazing actors that come in and you get young up-and-comers who are going to go on to do amazing things. For example, Asa Butterfield who plays Mordred who is just doing marvelous things with the role. So this year we’ve had a lot of younger guest stars come in finishing up the knights of the round table. But at the same time we have some pretty amazing guest cast. You’ve got Miriam Margolyes who I think is just absolutely on e of the funniest women I’ve ever met. And we’ve got Emilia Fox, who is one of my absolute favorites to work with. She plays Morgause, and is in quite a few episodes. We’ve got Tom Ellis this year. My experience with the guest stars is sort of different than everybody else because my story line is slightly sort of skewed. So I get slightly different guest stars than Colin and the others. But they are very clever with what they are doing, and I think this year is more about establishing the younger characters who are going to go on with the series, and more repeat characters.
